The Royal Bank of Canada has named Blair Fleming, the head of RBC’s global syndicate and leveraged finance team, as the new head of RBC Capital Markets' U.S. investment banking division and has added three bankers to its leveraged finance team.
Fleming, a 20-year RBC veteran, will be based in New York and oversee RBC Capital Markets’ investment banking division in the U.S., which includes corporate finance, industry groups, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance and restructuring. He will also retain his role as head of RBC’s global syndicate and leveraged finance team.
Additionally, RBC Capital Markets has hired Kete Cockrell to head its high yield capital markets group. Wirdnam joins the firm from Citigroup, where he spent 12 years, and will cover the communications, media and entertainment and technology industries. Schlossel, who was most recently at Lehman Brothers, will cover energy companies. And Barrish joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global leveraged finance group, where he originated and structured leveraged loans and high yield bonds across a range of industries, and will cover consumer and retail companies, as well as industrial and diversified services companies.
RBC also named John La Voie as a managing director in its U.S. financial sponsors group, based in San Francisco. La Voie joins from JPMorgan.
