BTIG Expands High Yield, RMBS Sales

BTIG has added two new sales executives to its fixed income group, the New York-based broker dealer said today, bringing the group to a total of 70 professionals.
The firm hired Alexander Piper as a director in the fixed income sales team, with a focus on high yield. He was most recently with Imperial Capital, where he worked in high yield, bank debt and equity sales. He previously worked for Jefferies.
The firm also added James Zurovchak as a director in RMBS sales. He will also be trading agency CMOs. He previously served in RMBS sales with Source Capital Group. Prior to that he worked in sales and trading positions with Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Nomura and Kidder Peabody.
Last month, BTIG added former Polygon Investments trader Chris Majak to its high yield trading group, and Jones Trading veteran Kerry Stein to its high yield sales group (LFN, Feb. 8, 2010).
BTIG’s debt group was launched last February by Jon Bass, formerly of UBS, and John Purcell, formerly of Citigroup (LFN, Feb. 9, 2009). It focuses on sales and trading of credit products, from investment grade to distressed debt.
