BTIG Snags Four for Fixed Income

New York-based broker dealer BTIG has hired four professionals for its fixed income capital markets group, including a former Morgan Stanley leveraged finance manager who will lead the effort, the firm announced today. The hires are the latest for BTIG, which has been steadily expanding over the past year.

Sean Dougherty has come on board to head up the fixed income capital markets team. At Morgan Stanley he led a group focused on originating, structuring and investing in leveraged finance transactions for middle market and large-cap companies.

Joining Dougherty on the fixed income capital markets team are three professionals with extensive leveraged loan experience:

Rishi Shrivastava also joins from Morgan Stanley, where he focused on structuring and originating high yield bonds and leveraged loans.

Francesco Del Vecchio comes to BTIG from Natixis, where he managed leveraged loan investments and worked on restructurings. He has also worked at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.

Peter Burton joins from Emporia Capital Management, where he sourced and invested in middle-market leveraged loans. He has also been an analyst with JPMorgan.

BTIG has been consistently expanding its fixed income group, particularly on the sales and trading side, over the past year. Earlier this year, BTIG added former Polygon Investments trader Chris Majak to its high yield trading group, and Jones Trading veteran Kerry Stein to its high yield sales group (LFN, Feb. 8, 2010).

BTIG’s debt group was launched last February by Jon Bass, formerly of UBS, and John Purcell, formerly of Citigroup (LFN, Feb. 9, 2009). It focuses on sales and trading of credit products, from investment grade to distressed debt.
