AT&T said it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for its much-ballyhooed spin-off of its wireless assets for a tracking stock. The company earlier announced that it will hold a special shareholders meeting in March to give the stockowners the chance to weigh in. Tracking stocks have become a popular way to unlock the value of wireless assets that are currently very much in favor with the capital markets.
